Celebrity Fitness Trick or What?!

Wanna be a new member in fitness centre? Well, you should do some research first before signing up with them. Just want to share my experience when I signed up with Celebrity Fitness (CF) in WangsaWalk recently. This could be a good tips to some of you who are looking for fitness centre as I don’t want you guys to go through the displeasure experience and feelings that I had.. This issue might not seem big to some people, but still as a consumer, I feel obligated to share this out.
Selepas sekian lama dok fikir-fikir samada nak join atau tidak, akhirnya..baru-baru ini saya signed up dengan CF Wangsa Walk. Memang sangat excited dan bersemangat nak work-out, stay active and healthy (cewahh) dan paling penting fitness centre tu dekat sangat dengan rumah..

When I stepped into the centre and shared my interest to become a member, they asked me to wait for their consultant. I was attended by this young guy aged 20 named Anson…untuk memendekkan cerita, Anson memberitahu saya membership fees ialah RM199, tetapi memandangkan saya mempunyai credit card XXX Bank, dia bagi tahu saya boleh mendapat diskaun sehingga RM179 kerana ada promotion.. walaupun saya rasa agak mahal tapi oklah sebab fikir sangat convenient ngan rumah yang dekat dan boleh datang anytime…

Malangnya selepas 2 minggu saya mendapat tahu RM179 adalah harga passport access to other CFs dan Wangsa Walk branch hanyalah RM139. Saya berjumpa dengan Anson semula dan tanya kenapa dia tak pernah mention ttg price different. Tetapi mati-matian dia bagitahu saya yang itu harga promotionlah dan sekarang dah ended, harga untuk extended familylah…come on-lah.. you guys should look at his expression at that time… and he asked me how I found out about this, but I told him that’s not important and I really really piss off and disappointed… NO SORRY from him either from the Manager (Maggie).. they said, ok they will downgrade my membership but the 2 months advance that I paid earlier will not be refunded… though the amount is RM80, but still this centre cannot be trusted… imagine if they do this to other 100 customers and they easily get RM8000…
I don’t care whether they are intentionally or unintentionally, conscious or subconscious mind on this game which I named it as their Dirty Tricks.. Understand that they are aiming for the figure ($$$), but lying and cheating to your customer is not acceptable at all especially from such “infamous” fitness club… They have to understand that once a customer step into their business, they give you trust. And customer trust and confidence is not easy to build, but this people simply destroy their credibility and image…. That’s what happened when their customer service officer named Jasmin asked me to sign the downgrade form, I’m quite hesitate especially when I saw the statement said that I have to pay RM188 for cancellation and RM15 for card replacement. She told me to trust her that it’s ok to sign the form and no extra $$ shall be charged to my account. I explained to her that now, when I see Celebrity Fitness, I see it as a whole and not an individual and my perception towards it has completely changed so as my trust. Yeah, I know it depends on the individual sales person, but at the end of the day, as a consumer, I see the responsibility lies under the company…. Biz people should not stretch the truth or hiding information from their customer as they gonna lose customers…the potential ones…

Well, some people may experience it differently as I have friends gave +ve feedback on CF service , but this was what I experienced and want to share with. Actually, there were dramas happened during the process and how pushy and very sales driven their Personal Trainers were that made me really under uncomfortable situation which I’m not intent to tell in details because what’s most important is I can share with you guys and let’s protect each other as a consumer and make sure they cannot simply tricks us anymore.

Those who has signed up for a year contract where the fee is charged to your credit card, make sure you know the T&C applies if you want to terminate the membership after the period. Cannot simply make a phone call and expect them to discontinue the payment. You must fill up the Cancellation Form and submit to them at least by certain working days (depending on the Fitness Center) or else it will be automatically renewed.

Extra careful on which package you take as this people has no-refund policy though the mistake is caused by them.. careful.
